We’re thrilled to announce that the Open Squash Classic is back for October 2025!

A bronze-level PSA Tour event with two 24-strong draws, the Open Squash Classic is fast on its way to becoming a regular fixture on the professional tour. Coming after the Qatar Classic and before the Silicon Valley Open and then, the U.S. Open, the Open Squash Classic in New York offers the world’s best players an opportunity to bring the drama and upset the top seeds.

Mark your calendars for Oct 5-9.

Meanwhile, do you want to bring your clients and coworkers to watch some amazing squash while your logo is front-and-center on our glass court during the tournament? We are offering exciting sponsorship opportunities! Contact Seth Frankle at seth.frankle@opensquash.org.

An amazing tournament with a fantastic atmosphere

Last year’s tournament saw several top-20 ranked players show up to compete, but the real intrigue and the joy came from watching younger and lower-ranked players bring their A-game against their more established rivals:

17-year-old Mohamed Zakaria from Egypt made the quarter finals, beating higher-seeded Frenchman Gregoire Marche and then losing to one-time British Open winner Miguel Rodriguez, a player more than twice his age with more years of experience on the PSA tour than Zakaria has experience of being alive.  Englishman Nathan Lake and Scot Greg Lobban also faced off in a squash recreation of the movie “Braveheart,” with Lobban’s baby son watching from the audience as his father recreated Gibson’s performance against the English. Open Squash ambassador Victor Crouin also lost out to Marwan Elshorbagy in the final. In a dynamic and competitive women’s draw, Hong Kong’s Ka Yi Lee narrowly lost out in the final to Open Squash ambassador Farida Mohamed after torching higher seeds Nada Abbas and Hollie Naughton in the quarter and semi-finals.

Don’t just hear about this year’s tournament second-hand. Be there in person to experience it for yourself! All ticket sales will go to support Open Squash’s junior scholarship program, which supports young people from all backgrounds playing squash amongst a competitive community of their peers.

See you at the Open Squash Classic!
