General
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to making squash accessible and affordable for everyone, no matter their background or income. We operate two vibrant community squash centers in New York City—one next to Bryant Park and one in the Financial District (FiDi)—featuring a combined total of 13 state-of-the-art courts.
Our facilities offer something for every squash player, from clinics, leagues, and lessons to tournaments designed for all skill levels. For Juniors, we provide a year-round Junior Academy and Summer Camps that serve beginners and competitive athletes alike. A core part of our mission is creating opportunities for underserved youth through partnerships with schools and after-school programs, while also championing initiatives that increase female participation in squash to foster a more inclusive and diverse community.
Our mission is simple: we believe squash should be accessible to all.
No, anyone can become a member, book a court, or tour anytime we're open! Courts are $90/45-min for non-members.
However, we do encourage people to join our community. We offer a free first session to anyone new to Open Squash and non-member rates. For more specific details or any other information, please refer to the member's terms section on Open Squash’s website or reach out directly to our team.
We stand by the principle that squash is for everyone. We welcome individuals of all ages and skill levels to participate in our squash programs and use our facilities.
No - we've got you covered! Players can borrow racquets and goggles on site and balls are available outside of the courts, or for purchase with our Front Desk. All you need is comfy, athletic clothing and shoes that are non-marking! We also have squash gear to purchase available in our pro shops at both our locations!
We’ve contributed more than $1 million to to the game since 2020, including our junior scholarship program.
Membership
Monthly membership discounts are available, including income-based discounts. If your financial situation improves, you are required to notify the center within 30 days to reassess your eligibility for such discounts.
Memberships are individual, but we provides discounts on subsequent individual memberships within the same family living at the same address.
Only those with month to month memberships are able to cancel, otherwise annual memberships can be cancelled by providing written notice at least 30 days before your annual anniversary date. Early termination for annual memberships is subject to the sole discretion of Open Squash and may be allowed in cases like relocation or financial hardship.
Juniors
Yes, we offer a range of coaching options for Juniors, including our Junior Academy, private and semi-private lessons with any of our experienced coaches, and dedicated Match-Play sessions to help young players refine their skills in a game setting.
Our Junior squash camps are designed for players ages 6–19, with sessions divided by age and skill level.
We offer camps during school breaks, holidays, and summer. Check our website for the latest schedule here.
Camps include technical instruction, match play, fitness training, and fun activities to keep kids engaged and active. Half and full day options are available.
Absolutely! We welcome beginners and provide a supportive environment for young players to learn the game in our Beginner Rec Camps.
Group Classes

We offer group classes for players of all levels, including beginner, intermediate, and advanced clinics as well as Women's Only programs. Our classes cover technique, strategy, and fitness.
You can sign up for group classes through our online booking system and Open Squash app. Spaces are limited, so reserve early!
Class sizes are kept small, typically 3-4 participants, to ensure individualized attention.

Financial Aid

We provide need-based financial aid for Junior and Adult memberships and camps to make squash accessible to everyone.

Yes, financial aid is available for Junior Squash camps, as well as other programs we offer.
Financial aid must be renewed annually. If your circumstances change, you may reapply or update your application.
Coaching
We provide private lessons, semi-private lessons, and group coaching sessions for all skill levels, tailored to your goals.
