David Hughes is a highly experienced Level 3 certified coach with over 20 years of coaching expertise. His early coaching career took him to Toronto, Vancouver, Guyana, and various Caribbean locations, where he honed his skills and passion for developing players. David’s competitive career was equally impressive, as he ranked in the top 10 in Canada during both his junior and adult career, and became a former 40+ champion in Ontario.

For the last decade, David has been an active and influential coach in the New York squash scene, working with both juniors and adults of all skill levels. His deep understanding of the technical and strategic aspects of squash allows him to guide players to reach their full potential, making him a respected figure in the community.

As Assistant Coach and Director of Squash Operations at Open Squash, David brings his wealth of experience and passion for the sport to every aspect of his work. He is dedicated to fostering a positive and supportive environment for players, while also overseeing the operational side of squash programming to ensure smooth, efficient delivery.
