Open Squash Senior Advisor, Harvard University Head Coach
Mike Way is a seasoned squash coach with over 40 years of experience, known for his innovative coaching philosophy and impactful contributions to the sport. Originally from Kent, England, Mike achieved a national ranking of No. 14 before moving to Canada, where he reached No. 5 in the national rankings.
Mike's coaching career spans several decades and includes prestigious roles at top squash clubs in Toronto, such as the Ontario Racquet Club and the Toronto Athletic Club. He also founded the Canadian National Squash Training Centre and mentored elite players, including World Champion Jonathon Power and World No. 10 Graham Ryding.
In 2010, Mike became the head coach of Harvard University's men's and women's squash teams, leading them to numerous national championships. His coaching emphasizes the feel and sound of each shot, helping players achieve their highest potential.
As a Senior Advisor at Open Squash, Mike brings his wealth of expertise to the community, guiding players and coaches with his deep knowledge and passion for the game. His dedication to excellence continues to inspire squash players at all levels. His invaluable contributions extend beyond advisory roles; he actively engages with our team to foster the growth of the sport.
