Our Members Say We're A Solid Nine

At Open Squash, we're always striving to deliver the best possible experience for our members. On that note there's good news from our recent member survey: More than 90%. 

That’s right. Many of our members responded to our recent member survey, and the average rating for our "overall experience at our facility"; "experience with our front desk staff", "experience with our coaching staff"; and "general condition of the courts" was more than four and a half out of five. Do the math! Our members love us!

The vast majority of our members also say it's easy to find players to play with, and that they're able to get the reservation they want online at Open Squash. 

"Open Squash is the best squash community all around. I have gotten three people to join!," wrote one member. 

“This place is truly special,” wrote another. 

"I really appreciate the effort to make Open Squash continually better," wrote another.

"The laundry service is HUGE! One of the best aspects of the club. The cleaning and maintenance crew at the club is also outstanding. I really appreciate how clean and organized they keep the club, locker room, and shower stalls," wrote another member. 

"I love Open Squash, it's been a major highlight of my year and I look forward to playing for years to come. I appreciate your sliding scale price system," wrote another member. (More than 20% of our members are on some form of income-based discount, reflecting our commitment to inclusivity). 

We're also a community with a thriving women's and junior program, and that doesn't go unnoticed.

"I love the support and encouragement from this club. I also love that there are many women," wrote one member. 

Many of our members take clinics and private lessons and want to improve. The feedback on our coaching staff is excellent. Those who do take private lessons rate them very highly, with an average rating of more than 90%, again. 

"[My coach] is a tremendous teacher," wrote one member. "They really identify specific, hidden weaknesses and have unique strategies to build new habits to improve technique. My technique has improved tremendously since taking lessons with [my coach]."

"I had a conditioning class - [the coach] was great at introducing me to various exercises I had never attempted before with confidence," wrote another member.

There's also enthusiasm for how Open Squash is such a part of the New York and international squash communities. 

"Love having PSA exhibition matches and tournament events at the club," wrote one member. "Love the events, and love that Fidi is becoming the defacto club for hosting tournaments," wrote another. 

Other members praised the social and community aspect of Open Squash. "I'm a big fan of the round robin - it's been great for meeting new players," wrote one member. "The programming is a huge part of what I love about Open Squash," wrote another. 

Of course we're always striving to improve and we don't plan to rest on our laurels in response. Where our members did give us tips for how to improve, we were grateful, and we've already made some changes to act on it. Fairness is very important to our members and so we've made sure that people booking primetime courts have an incentive both to show up for the bookings, and also, to make sure they're hitting with a partner. No court should ever go unplayed-on during primetime! We're also still trying to figure out how to add a sauna to our locker rooms as it's something people have been asking for. (Although if anyone has any ideas, we're all ears. We’re struggling to get the idea off the ground!)

Above all, we're grateful to those of our members who filled out our member survey. Their engagement keeps us trying to offer the best possible experience and we never take them for granted.
