Squash in Bermuda, Anyone?
By James Green – Open Squash Co-Founder

I wanted to tell you about an awesome squash event coming up that I'm really excited about: The 2025 Bermuda Squash Challenge, from June 12th to 15th.
I am planning on going this year and our team is assembled! I've been participating, sometimes running, but always following this tournament for years, and I'm so glad it's back. The Bermuda Squash Racquets Association is hosting it, and it's a fantastic opportunity to play some competitive squash while enjoying the beautiful island of Bermuda.
What's really cool about this tournament is the team format. Each team has three players: an "A" level player, a "B" level player, and a "C" level player. The levels are based on a points system, with A players above 5.0 (sometimes way above 5), B players between 4 and 5, and C players are 3.9 and below. I consider myself a very week B player or a “ringer” in C. I’m playing B this year but am open to a higher rated sub to split the matches with me if someone else wants to join us as I don’t want to let my team down! Teams can bring up to six players and rotate who plays in each match, which gives you flexibility. After all the real point is to have fun.
The entry fee is $285 per player, and it covers a ton of stuff. You're guaranteed at least three team matches, but where it really excels is on the social side: There's a welcome dinner on Thursday, a buffet dinner at the Club on Friday with a pro exhibition, and a beer and BBQ party at the Club on Saturday an optional trip on a Catamaran plus you get a T-shirt. These tournaments are super social events, so it's a great way to meet other squash enthusiasts.
This tournament has a great history. It's more than just a squash tournament; it's a chance to travel, meet new people, and have a blast. I’ve made life-long friends from going on this trip.
If you're interested, you should register your team ASAP by clicking HERE. Spots are limited. I really hope to see some of you there! You can also talk to me about the event, if you like!
