Women's Squash Week 2026

Her Court, Her Story: how we celebrated Women’s Squash Week.

Last week, we celebrated Women's Squash Week for the third year in a row. Women's Squash Week, organized throughout the U.S. by U.S. Squash, ran from September 14–20 this year. The theme, “Her Court, Her Story,” encouraged squash facilities around the country to recognize and celebrate the women in our sport.

At Open Squash, we ran events throughout the week, including pilates and a matchplay clinic. We concluded with our Women's Round Robin, run by coaches Ciara Richards and Sam Cornett at the Bryant Park location, on Friday.

With 25 women over 5 courts, we had a packed facility full of women ranging from all ages, abilities, and experience levels. Each entry included a shirt designed by our Graphic Designer, Adriana Arcangel, that read “She's Got the Drive.”

As participants moved up and down the courts, switching to be with new players every few minutes, words of advice and encouragement were shared by our coaches, and between the players themselves. Everyone ended the hour and a half sweaty and tired, but with lots of new squash friends.

To us, this is what it's all about: fostering community through sport. Our women's community is growing every day, and we are so happy every time we can host a women's event and bring everyone together.

After the squash was over, everyone gathered in the cafe, decorated with pink and purple stars and squash-themed banners, for sushi and wine. Most people stayed late into the evening, chatting with new friends and catching up with old ones.

A huge thank you to our women's community for showing up to celebrate Women's Squash Week, to our coaches Ciara and Sam, to Adriana for the t-shirts, and to Karo Ramos, our photographer.

Thank you also to our sponsors, New York Squash and Auserman Chocolate.

See you next year!
