NEW YORK, NY — Open Squash, a New York City-based nonprofit dedicated to making squash more accessible and affordable, today announced the launch of the Open Squash Ball Warmer, a simple, low-cost innovation (patent pending) designed to improve the experience of new and intermediate players.
The Ball Warmer solves one of the biggest challenges for developing squash players: how to get the ball warm enough to bounce consistently and sustain rallies. Using a modified food dehydrator, the Ball Warmer holds up to 18 squash balls at a time. After approximately 10 minutes in the warmer, balls are ready for play and will remain warm throughout the day.

Consistent with Open Squash’s mission, the first production run of Open Squash Ball Warmers is being provided free of charge to any Squash Education Alliance (SEA) program that would like one. Open Squash has already shipped Ball Warmers to 13 SEA programs across the country.
For all other squash facilities, Open Squash Ball Warmers are available at cost for $59.
